These Genuine BMW Rear Subframe Reinforcement plates came welded on from the factory on most M3's but not the base 3 Series models. These plate are recommended for all 3 Series Non-M cars to reinforce the point on the chassis where the subframe mounts. Your subframe supports the weight and torsional forces from the rest of the drivetrain, and over time all that flexing and twisting can cause the chassis mount location to become weak and crack or worse rip out completely! Tech Note - This item requires welding during installation
